THINK MAULDIN

Issues

Picture
With Frank Allgood, you get a community-driven vision. He is duty bound to represent everyone, no matter where you live within the City of Mauldin. He will work to strengthen our quality of life as our city embarks on a comprehensive plan for the future.

Economic Vitality

The City of Mauldin is no longer a drive-through city. From revitalization to recreation, economic growth is transforming how residents live, work, and enjoy Mauldin.

Frank has supported that momentum, helping launch key developments at BridgeWay Station, the City Center, and the new pedestrian bridge over I-385. With a new soccer stadium set to open in 2026, Mauldin’s economic landscape continues to evolve with smart, sustainable investments.

He remains a strong advocate for small and locally-owned businesses, supporting incentives and resources that empower them to thrive. Frank’s focus is on delivering quality services while creating long-term opportunities for both families and entrepreneurs.

Sense of Place

What makes Mauldin feel like home isn’t just where we live, but how we live together. Frank believes in cultivating a city identity we can all take pride in.

Over the past four years, Frank has supported cultural growth by helping complete the Mauldin Cultural Center theatre retrofit, expanding beloved events like Amp’d Up Fridays, Sooie BBQ Cook-Off, and the Christmas Tree Lighting, and adding a new holiday lights trail. A state-of-the-art cover now enhances our amphitheater, supporting year-round performances.

Our public safety departments continue to lead in community outreach, with new investments like a fire station and greater public engagement by our police. Today, Mauldin is also undergoing a dynamic rebrand, one that reflects our evolving story with more vibrancy and unity than ever before.

City Infrastructure

As Mauldin grows, infrastructure must keep pace – intelligently and responsibly. Frank has championed efforts that not only modernize city operations but also keep residents safe, connected, and informed. Recent upgrades include new police and fire vehicles, body cameras and safety tools, and modern public works equipment to improve responsiveness and efficiency.

Frank continues to support investing wisely in all departments – from sanitation to streets and sewer to public transportation, including support for GreenLink transit. He believes new developments must also contribute to infrastructure, including expanding our trail system. It’s all part of building a city that works better for everyone.

Parks & Recreation

Mauldin’s green spaces and athletic programs are growing, and Frank is helping lead that charge as Recreation Committee Chair.
Under his leadership, Mauldin opened the pedestrian bridge over I-385 and expanded our trail network. Participation is up across all programs at the Mauldin Sports Center and through youth recreation leagues. Frank continues to advocate for accessible green space, walkable trails, and active lifestyle opportunities for all ages and abilities.

As a lifelong athlete, coach, and advocate, Frank believes in what sports and recreation can do for community health, personal development, and civic pride.

Stormwater Management

Picture
Few cities have taken stormwater planning as seriously as Mauldin, and Frank has been instrumental in making that happen.

He supported a comprehensive stormwater study, creating a clear priority list and securing record levels of grant funding to address flooding and infrastructure issues. Frank continues to support smart growth strategies that account for long-term environmental and infrastructure needs – ensuring our city develops in a way that’s resilient, responsible, and ready for the future.
